Ann Garlock
Case Manager

Ann graduated from Michigan State University with a BSN and has been a nurse for 28 years. Upon graduation, Ann initially worked in acute care at Bronson Methodist Hospital on the oncology and medical surgical unit, then in the hemodialysis unit. From there she moved to home care nursing first in Kalamazoo, then in Battle Creek as a field case manager, then to the Management/Liaison position where she worked in Intake and Referral, part time hospital liaison for Bronson Methodist Hospital and Borgess Medical Center, and Battle Creek Health System. She also did marketing to physicians in the greater Southwest Michigan area. While in home care, she also performed utilization review and provider bill review and documentation response.

In 2000, Ann transitioned from home care to field and telephonic case management, performing assessments, procurement of services, and collaboration with insurance providers and self-insured employers for continuity of care for medical case management. She obtained her Certified Case Manager’s (CCM) in 2002. During this period, she moved from field case manager to Clinical Services Supervisor for a team of remote telephonic case managers across the eastern United States for multiple employers and insurance companies.

In 2009, she returned to field case management, where her path led her to the diverse field of Auto No-Fault, Workers’ Compensation, and Medical Case Management client’s. This enabled her to gain valuable experience working with a wide range of age groups from pediatric to geriatric with moderate to catastrophic injuries and expand on knowledge of medical case management.

As a mother to a daughter with epilepsy, her passion for case management comes from the need to champion for patient advocacy, the autonomy to work with the entire health care team to solve complex medical challenges, and help people overcome barriers. In addition to her regular employment, since 2003, she also has performed per diem long term care insurance Underwriting and Benefit Assessments as an independent case manager. She was blessed with the opportunity to join the Manageability team in January 2015 and appreciates the commitment and dedication of the entire company to enhance the lives of injured and ill persons.
