Patricia Santer graduated from University of Michigan Hospital with a BSN in 1977. Upon graduation, she began working for Visiting Nurse Association where she remained for several years. At VNA she managed a caseload and worked independently in the field seeing a variety of patients daily. After taking time off from nursing to raise children, she resumed working in an in-patient substance abuse center. In 1996, she began her career as a medical case manager. She has had many years of experience working with worker’s compensation, auto no-fault, medically challenged and catastrophic patients. She obtained her Certified Case Manager certification in 2000. Ms. Santer is personally aware of physical disabilities as she has family members with disabilities. She has provided assistance, guidance and role modeling for maintaining an active, productive and full life, including working professional jobs.
